Chuck on February 15th, 2009

Hello,

Somehow you have found me here. Alas, I do not have time now to post to this blog (although I may give it a try from time to time). The best way to keep in touch with me is:

•At Twitter, where I post short messages almost every day.

•Through my Roadside Journal blog at RVtravel.com

•Or by reading my weekly online newsletter at RVtravel.com: Sign up here.

WHO AM I?
I’m Charles M. Woodbury III, but I go by Chuck. I was raised and spent most of my life in California — in West Covina (near Los Angeles), as a child before moving to Grass Valley as a high school senior, graduating in 1965 from Nevada Union High School. For the next 25 years I lived in Sacramento, where I attended California State University and got my start publishing small newspapers and doing freelance writing and PR work. Then I got married, had my daughter Emily with my wife Rodica (we are now divorced but good friends) and moved to Nevada City (next door to Grass Valley), where I lived for a few years before moving to Edmonds, Washington where I now operate RVbookstore.com and edit and publish a dozen active websites, most of them about recreation vehicles and the RV lifestyle. You can reach me at cwoodbury at gmail.com . I am best known for my “on the road” newspaper Out West that I published from a small motorhome in the ’90s.

Both of my parents, Charles M. Woodbury, Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Woodbury, died in 2008 — my father in February and my mother in July. I have one sister, Judi Woodbury, who lives in Lynnwood, Wash., and a brother Ross who lives in Grass Valley, Calif.
